In addition to all the great walks, the club also has a lively social side to it. Annual events consist of the Christmas Party, Club Dinner and Summer Barbeque, (plus pretty much any other excuse we can find).
Club Members also meet for a pint every Thursday night in Fennessy's Pub pub around 9.30PM, 1 New Street, Limerick City , http://www.fennessyspub.com. This is a social meeting and new or prospective members are especially welcome.
We had a great time at last year's Christmas Party, it started with the Kilcommon Loop walk lead by Fergus Flynn, followed by a great night in the Greenhills with dinner and dancing into the wee early hours.
In February we had our Annual Dinner in the Skellig Hotel in Dingle, organised by club social secretary Conor O'Leary. The inclement weather meant the walk up Mt Brandon had to be cut short but no time was lost by club members who swapped the wintry outdoors for the warmth of the hotel leisure centre.
There was a great turnout for the annual summer BBQ held in the Limerick Lawn Tennis Club, with lovely food, much dancing and a never-ending raffle. Many thanks to Conor and the rest of the committee for all their hard work in organising the event.
If you have any queries or suggestions on the social side of the club, please contact the club Social Officer.
